When creating illumination of the main street in Kyiv, we set the goal to stress its individuality and to create an image which will be closely connected with our history and national peculiarities.

The first phase of the project was realized in May 2005 and was dedicated to the music competition Eurovision which was held in Ukraine. We managed to amaze our guests by the bright light face of the capital of Ukraine in Khreshchatyk which was adequate to the image of a European capital. The wires over the roadways consist of led garlands produced by Magic Garland Lite and light signs fixed on it which are easy to dismantle and change.

Thus, the illumination of Khreshchatyk street can be changed easily according to the holiday celebrated in the country. We produced a number of signs dedicated to different significant events. During the Eurovision Khreshchatyk was decorated by “notes” and “clefs” in combination with the symbol of Kyiv – chestnuts.

Dedicated to the Victory Day, the musical motifs were substituted by orders and stars and during the winter Khreshchatyk was decorated by snowflakes. The second phase of the project was the creation of arches in the national style that hang over the pedestrian zone of Khreshchatyk. In the base of the design of the project were put the patterns of the Ukrainian national embroidery.

The arches were made of highly bright led durolight fixed on a stable metal construction. Today’s evening image of Khreshchatyk does not only create the atmosphere of a holiday but also stresses its uniqueness, the richness of the national coloring and the riches of the national culture.
